Mountain Road vs Purple Passage

Mountain Road and Purple Passage come from the same Sherwin-Williams collection. Mountain Road reads as grey, while Purple Passage reads as blue-grey — two distinct hue families, not close cousins. The 11-point LRV gap — 23 for Mountain Road vs 12 for Purple Passage — means Mountain Road will open up a space more effectively. Where Mountain Road leans neutral, Purple Passage reads cool — a distinction that shifts noticeably depending on the light source and surrounding finishes. A ΔE of 26.6 puts these firmly in different territory — two distinct design choices rather than close alternatives. Below, 5 simulated room previews show how each color reads at scale — real-room photos will be added as they become available.
